Cookies

Last week the SproutChefs made a savory beef stew. This week was a sweet week. They made cookies from the recipes listed below. Each SproutChef should have brought home with at least four of each of the cookies below to bake in their own ovens 350 degrees F for 9-11 minutes.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup room temperature butter (two sticks)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed

  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Put the butter in a bowl.

  3. Stir sugar into the butter until smooth.

  4. Add vanilla and the eggs into the butter and sugar mixture until incorporated.

  5. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined. Dough should be soft and a little sticky but not overly sticky.

  6. Stir in chocolate chips.

  7. Drop by spoonfuls on a baking sheet and bake for 9-11 minutes.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)

  • 2/3 cup white sugar

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

3. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in another bowl and stir into the creamed mixture.

4. Fold in the white chocolate chips.

5. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until cookies are set.

7. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

  1. Bake for 9-11 minutes.
