So, You Think You Can’t Read a Recipe, Cooking Class!

Chef Lisa is starting a new series of cooking classes for early or reluctant readers. Lisa is a certified primary school teacher with a master’s degree in reading. She taught Head Start, first grade and has lots of experience inspiring kids to want to read. The plan is to give her young Sprout Chefs simple recipes to make sweet treats. If they do it right, how sweet it is! If they don’t do it right, that’s ok, too. That’s how we learn. They can figure out what went wrong and try again. At the end of the series, the participants will take home their own personal cookbook to keep their favorite recipes in. The class is intended to inspire a lifelong love of cooking, reading, writing, eating good food, and creativity. This reading class (disguised as a cooking class) is geared for children with pre and early reading skills, although advanced readers are also welcome to serve as role models.
