Cooking classes for kids
Spring/Summer 2026 Classes
To sign up for a class, click on the links below to register through Darien Parks and Rec. Each session of classes will focus on seasonal ingredients, holidays, current trends, and the class’s particular interests. All classes are hands-on.

We are happy to be offering new classes this season, as well as the old favorites. Most classes and events will be held at the Weed Beach Paddle Hut in Darien, unless otherwise indicated. All supplies and ingredients are provided. Ages 5-12 work together, unless otherwise indicated.
Fairy folk-tales and spring cake decorating
Children ages 2 1/2 - 5 years and their significant adult will work together to make the following treats on Tuesdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm.

Warm weather brings mermaids and beach themed

COOKING CLASSES Ages: Kinder - 12 years
Pi Day, Pie Making Party
This day is for creating a pie using an assortment of crusts, fillings and toppings. Not only do the pie chefs create their own unique pie, they will name their pie and write out the recipe, as well illustrate it. The older chefs will work with the young chefs to make their recipes perfect.
Location: The Paddle Hut at Weed Beach
Times: 10 am - 11am
Saturday, March 14th
Darien residents: $38 p/pie, Nonresidents: $46 p/pie
Summers Last Fling Camp
Each day the campers will spend the day creating a lunch to share together. The first day they make pasta from scratch. The days that follow, the classes will be tailor made to fit their interests and ability levels. The mixed ages help each other read recipes and measure.

August 17th -21st, M-F 10am - 2pm
